A second Charlotte motorist has been accused of assaulting Border Patrol agents, after two vehicles collided in a gas station parking lot, according to the Department of Homeland Security. Homeland Security officials report the latest incident occurred Monday, Nov. 17, as agents were gathering for an ongoing immigration operation in Charlotte.
Hundreds of students in Charlotte, North Carolina, walked out of class Tuesday to protest the presence of Border Patrol agents in their city. CBS News correspondent Skyler Henry reports.
A Border Patrol enforcement action in Raleigh could follow the one in Charlotte, which led to fear and protests.
Agents are expected to be active in the Raleigh area on Tuesday, though the scope of the immigration crackdown in the state’s Research Triangle region was not immediately clear.
