After more than a month of rumors and feverish speculation — including Polymarket wagering on the release date — Google today unveiled Gemini 3, its newest proprietary frontier model family and the company’s most comprehensive AI release since the Gemini line debuted in 2023.

Google clearly has high hopes for Gemini 3 in the coding domain. Along with the new model, the company has released Google Antigravity, a new agentic development platform that will likely compete with fast-growing startup Cursor, which sells its own AI-powered integrated development environment (IDE).

Google cofounder Larry Page overtook Amazon’s Jeff Bezos to become the world’s third-wealthiest person Wednesday, as Alphabet’s stock surged by nearly 6% in the wake of strong third quarter earnings and the release of Google’s Gemini 3 AI model.

Google released Gemini 3, its latest and most advanced foundation model, to be made immediately available through the Gemini app and AI search interface.

In addition to launching across the Gemini app, in Search, and a new Antigravity platform, Google’s flagship AI model has arrived in preview for GitHub Copilot subscribers, who can now choose Gemini 3 Pro from the model picker menu across GitHub and VS Code.
