A large crowd gathered in East Charlotte Tuesday evening, to demonstrate against Customs & Border Patrol agents who are currently conducting operations across the city.

DHS said it officially launched an operation dubbed "Charlotte's Web" to target immigrants living in the Charlotte area illegally.

Federal officers carrying out immigration raids faced multiple vehicle ramming attacks in Charlotte on Monday, injuring at least one officer.

Gregory Bovino, the top Border Patrol official leading the charge on the Trump administration’s immigration crackdown in cities, and his officers are heading to Charlotte, according to a source familiar with the planning.

"The fact that a paper tells me you're now a citizen of this country doesn't take away from the fact that I look the way I look," Cristina Rojas told CBS News.

US Border Patrol agents conducted immigration raids in Charlotte, North Carolina, as DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin cited public safety concerns.
