Spurs don't need Victor Wembanyama to shut down Grizzlies late
The San Antonio Spurs didn't have Victor Wembanyama Tuesday, nor Stephon Castle or Dylan Harper. But strong team defense and a healthy dose of Harrison Barnes got them a clutch win over the Memphis Grizzlies anyway.
The Spurs defeated the Grizzlies 111-101 despite missing key players, with Fox and Barnes stepping up in the victory.
This is setting up to be a close one. After bad offense in the first half, Memphis put up 40 points in third quarter. Jaren Jackson Jr. and Cedric Coward led the way, scoring nine and 11 points in third quarter, respectively.
San Antonio plays a nationally televised game on NBC against the Memphis Grizzlies, but they'll have to do it without Wemby. Wemby isn't playing on Tuesday for the Spurs against the Grizzlies because he's injured.
