A recent string of burglaries and vehicle thefts prompted authorities in Sallisaw to step up patrols, leading to 16 arrests.

More arrests were made in another targeted “Operation Guardian” effort. This follows the arrest of 120 undocumented immigrants in September in Western Oklahoma.
