A series of earthquakes hit off the coast of Taiwan Wednesday, according to the United States Geological Survey ( USGS ). The quakes measured at 4.5 and 4.6 magnitude strength and struck 16.15 miles, about 26 km, and 16.7 miles, about 27 km, east-northeast of Hualien City, the USGS map shows.
