After a sloppy first half, the Miami Dolphins played a cleaner game in the second half and overtime to survive with a 16-13 victory to improve to 4-7 and send the Washington Commanders to a 3-8 record after their sixth consecutive defeat.

Jones, a cornerback, was the hero of the day, intercepting a pass by Marcus Mariota on the first play of overtime. Talk about sudden death: Seven seconds into the OT, the game was essentially over. All that remained was the inevitable field goal that enabled everyone in the rollicking Bernabeu stadium to exhale.
