One of the most intriguing and consequential games of the college football weekend kicks off Saturday afternoon in Eugene, OR where the 6th-ranked Ducks host the No. 16 Trojans of USC (8-2). There are significant College Football Playoff implications for both teams.

The Gwynn Wilson Student Union building on the University of Southern California campus was evacuated on Wednesday afternoon after a bomb threat was reported. The evacuation was announced on the university's X account at 2:31 p.m. Wednesday.

The Trojans have been strong defensively in the second half of the past two games, but they will face one of their biggest challenges this weekend in Eugene.

The Trojans (8-2, 6-1 Big Ten Conference) have gradually improved their defense since their last meeting with Oregon (9-1, 6-1). Last season, they allowed 24.1 points per game (57th). Entering Saturday, USC has allowed 21.7 points per game (41st) this season.

USC has dealt with several injuries on the offensive line this season that has resulted in them having to shuffle around the lineup on almost a weekly basis.  B

A bomb threat that turned out to be false prompted the evacuation of the student union building at USC on Wednesday afternoon, according to authorities. The USC Public Safety Department wrote on X that the building was evacuated at 2:31 p.m. and told students to stay away from the area. The building is located at 3601 Trousdale Parkway.
